Orange, the pumpkin lantern, pouted on the porch. His carved smile was lopsided, and he thought the neighbor’s pumpkin glowed much brighter.

Just then, a black cat leaped up, knocking over a candy bowl. A pumpkin-shaped gummy plopped right into Orange’s "mouth."

“Hey, you look like you’re sneaking a treat!” the cat purred, swishing its tail.

Orange wobbled, making his light dance. The cat laughed, and soon, every little ghost passing by giggled at the “candy-stealing” lantern.
